#goodfindfriday: Magic Spoon Cereal

May 8, 2020

Y'all!!!!! I've been on the Keto Diet the last couple of months to try and help reduce my migraines (speaking of which I have had ZERO in the last three weeks!  Whoop, whoop!) and have been in mourning over the loss of my Chocolate Chex cereal.  I seriously LOVE cereal...like, our house usually looks similar to an episode of Seinfeld because we have so many boxes.  It is a given that at least once a week cereal is on the menu for dinner.  And while my family has gone through no less than 20 boxes of cereal during this quarantine I have been over here suffering and going through withdrawals.

On one of my random midnight mystery internet browsing sessions (tell me you guys do this too?) I came across Magic Spoon Cereal.  I was kinda hesitant to buy it at first because of the hefty price-tag.  At $39 for 4-boxes, I was thinking there better be some Pura Vida bracelets included as the prize inside...but it was a moment of weakness and before I knew it I had officially "checked out."

It took about 5 days for the 4-box variety pack to arrive.  The variety pack included Cocoa, Frosted, Fruity and Blueberry. It took me exactly less than a minute to dig into the first box of cereal, which in this case was Cocoa.  The company claims that Cocoa tastes like Cocoa Puffs.  Now, it has been a decade or more since I have had Cocoa Puffs because I was diagnosed with Celiac after my daughter's birth, but let me tell you it tastes like what I remember Cocoa Puffs to taste like.  Freaking fantastic!

Next, I tried the Frosted which is supposed to be comparable to Frosted Cheerios.  Holy vanilla cupcakes Batman!  It is amazingly awesome BUT I don't think it tastes anything like Frosted Cheerios.  I ate the entire box but it was the flavor I ate when I wanted dessert rather than breakfast.

Fruity was next on the list and it definitely did not disappoint.  It tasted EXACTLY like Fruit Loops but with trendier colors (teal, mustard yellow and magenta).  This flavor was my fave and I'm planning on getting a 4-box pack of this in the next order.

I saved Blueberry for the final taste-test because I was somewhat thrown off by the comparison to Boo Berry...which I think is disgusting.  However, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor.  It was similar to the Fruity flavor but with more of a berry taste.

Each box of Magic Spoon cereal boasts 0 grams of sugar, 3 grams of net carbs, 11 grams of protein, 4.5 grams of fat, and 110 calories.  Pretty great macros for a Keto Diet! To keep this delicacy within the low carb guidelines, I subbed out cow's milk for unsweetened vanilla almond milk which added 1 gram of carbs.

Want to try it for yourself?  You can order direct from the company website at www.magicspoon.com.  I think it's important to note that I am not getting reimbursed in any way for this review...I am obviously not important enough.  Lol.

If you give the cereal a try drop me a comment below and let me know your thoughts.  Happy Friday!
